WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?
Do you have a family photoshoot coming and you’re wondering ‘what is the best time of day for a photoshoot’?
Can you schedule your family photoshoot any time of the day? You could… but I don’t think you necessarily should. I have been photographing families for over 13 years in Westerville, OH and one thing that is so important is the lighting. There are many different lighting situations such as shade, full sun, overcast and sunset light. I have photographed in all situations and have gotten good at it. BUT when you can photograph a few hours before sunset, during golden hour, something really magical takes place.
I now only offer my outdoor sessions during golden hour for the reasons I share below:
THE LIGHT:
Sunset/Sunrise lighting is the best time of day. It makes an image feel extra magical with the sun glowing through the trees. When the sun is behind the subject, it removes any harsh light that might fall onto the face or front of the body. It’s flattering, showcases the landscape beautifully and makes your session a little more dreamy with a golden glow.
CONSISTENCY:
I want to make sure that each session I have is consistent so when you see one of my photographs you know what kind of outcome to expect for your family photoshoot with me.
TIMELESS:
When you take the time out of your busy schedule to have your family photos taken. You want your images & prints to stand the test of time both physically and artistically. When you’re looking back on these photos in 20-30 years, you want it to look just as beautiful as the moment you took it. Golden hour lighting is always timeless and classic when it comes to photography.
DREAMY:
Each sunset photoshoot adds a dreamy quality that I love to each session. To me, it just brings the connections to life and gives your images that special quality.
You can see each of these full sessions here and here.
